The name Cosworth is synonymous with racing car engines. It is equally famous in the foundry business for its development of counter-gravity pouring of aluminium and zircon sand moulds.
In the mid-1990s, the company (then part of Vickers plc) built a green field site aluminium foundry, costing £26 million, on the outskirts of Worcester, UK, to manufacture aluminium engine heads. Three of Cti's most experienced team members worked with Cosworth to help fine tune the equipment and processes.
Today, the throughput of the plant exceeds the original design capacity.
Cosworth Technology Ltd is now owned by AUDI AG and Cti continues to assist the company with its ongoing development.
