Castings Technology International, based on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, is one of the world’s leading providers of technology, high performance metal castings and expertise to the cast metals sector and global supply chains.

Our facilities and materials expertise enable us to produce high performance products in the entire range of steel and iron, titanium and zirconium, magnesium and aluminium, and nickel and cobalt-based super-alloys.

To accommodate a marked growth in activity, an additional 50,000 sq ft of workshop space has been developed on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire, and significant investment has been made in advanced design, rapid prototyping, ceramic shell and vacuum melting facilities.

New projects require us to build up the 55-strong team already working on the new site. We are seeking to recruit individuals to work at Cti, with an ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, to aerospace manufacturing quality systems.


Project/Design Engineer – Casting Manufacture

As a Project/Design Engineer – Casting Manufacture, you will be responsible for the concept, detailed design and full production layouts of new equipment and processes, which will ensure Cti, and its Members, stay at the forefront of their field. The role includes the project management required to ensure the most cost effective solution is delivered on time.

Experience of metal casting facilities is essential, as is experience of AutoCAD or similar. A high level understanding of Health and Safety legislation is desirable. Degree qualified in a Mechanical Engineering or similar field, or extensive relevant experience is essential. Some international travel will be required to fulfill this role.

Based: Rotherham/Sheffield

Salary: Up to £40,000 dependent on experience.

Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation of the calibration and supplier management systems. The role will include all other aspects of Quality; within AS9100, NADCAP and UKAS accredited castings manufacturing facilities, supplying into aerospace, defence, oilfield and engineering sectors.  

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work in an efficient manner with internal staff, external suppliers, customers and auditors.  Experience of similar quality systems and internal/external audits is essential.

A qualification equivalent to HNC/Degree in a suitable engineering field or experience within the metal manufacturing industry would be greatly beneficial.

Salary: Up to £20,000 dependent on experience.

Casting Finishers / Fettlers

As a Casting Finishing Operator/Fettler you will operate in an intensive working enviroment in the preparation and precision finishing of cast metal components to a high standard using a variety of hand held tools. The job includes considerable bench work with some aspects of  manual labour.

Training will be given. The ability to work to written finishing techniques/work instructions is essential. Whilst working as part of a small dedicated team you will also be required to work under your own initiative. Tasks will be varied and the ability to be flexible and contribute to our continuous improvement ethos is paramount.

For the right candidate an immediate start is available.

Metallurgical Technician  

A vacancy has arisen for a metallurgical technician to work within our UKAS accredited metallurgical laboratory.  The right candidate will be given appropriate training and will be working in support of the company’s primary activities.  This will include production testing, research and investigative testing to tight deadlines.

The role includes (but is not limited to):

  • Chemical analysis using OES, Combustion and Inert Gas Fusion Techniques
  • Managing sub-contract testing
  • Assisting with metallurgical investigations

It is anticipated that the right candidate will develop a wide skill set and be able to assist in a variety of investigations both in the laboratory and production environment.

Minimum requirements:

  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills
  • HNC in manufacturing engineering or equivalent technical qualification

or

  • Two years previous experience in a metallurgical laboratory
