Castings Technology International, based on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, is one of the world’s leading providers of technology, high performance metal castings and expertise to the cast metals sector and global supply chains.

Our facilities and materials expertise enable us to produce high performance products in the entire range of steel and iron, titanium and zirconium, magnesium and aluminium, and nickel and cobalt-based super-alloys.

To accommodate a marked growth in activity, an additional 50,000 sq ft of workshop space has been developed on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire, and significant investment has been made in advanced design, rapid prototyping, ceramic shell and vacuum melting facilities.

New projects require us to build up the 55-strong team already working on the new site. We are seeking to recruit individuals to work at Cti, with an ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, to aerospace manufacturing quality systems.

Estimator / Technical Sales Engineer (Internal)

Ideal for an ambitious, personable Mechanical Engineer or Materials specialist, wishing to move into a more customer-facing role. The main duties and responsibilities will be to respond to enquiries and requests for quotes from Cti’s broad customer base, partners and member companies. You will be a point of contact for clients up to a purchase order being received. You will calculate prices, produce the quote documentation and deal directly with our customers on a daily basis. You will interact with the dedicated team at Cti, in the areas of research, design, process development, quality and production. Due to the research and development nature of our business you will play a key role in our enquiry review process, ensuring internal risks are well understood, and our customers expectation is precisely aligned.

We have expertise in product and process development in a wide variety of cast alloys such as titanium, super-alloy, aluminium and steel. Our cutting-edge casting process capabilities include 3D printing of sand moulds, investment casting using layer manufactured patterns, and other in-house developed techniques, all delivering step-change improvements for our clients; unachievable by more conventional processes. Your role will relate to the full range of services offered by the Product Development team.

Other key duties will include following up on previously quoted jobs, indentifying potential new customers and areas for growth, and identifying areas within the business where costs can be reduced in order to increase sales opportunities.

The candidate:

  • Must have at least 2-3 years industrial experience from a metals based background
  • Ideally a graduate of Mechanical Engineering or Materials
  • Must have experience of dealing directly with customers
  • Experience of metal casting processes will be advantageous, but is not essential
