Round Up Issue 1: Foundry Sector Guidance (SG) Notes

This Roundup presents the links to the newly released IPPC Sector Guidance Notes for both the ferrous and non-ferrous sector LA IPPC installations (also known as A2).

These documents provide guidance on mandatory requirements for emissions and impacts of operations, and Best Available Techniques for control of emissions and impacts.

You can click on the highlighted text to go straight to the document, otherwise copy the links at the bottom into your internet browser!

These guidance notes are available as printed copies from Defra Publications.

IPPC SG3 (974 KB) - SoS's Guidance for the A(2) Ferrous Foundries Sector (January 2006)

IPPC SG4 (971 KB) - SoS's Guidance for A(2) Activities in the Non-ferrous Metals Sector (January 2006)

These SG notes were subject to a formal consultation exercise, undertaken by Defra and WAG, which allowed key stakeholders, plus wider interested organisations, to have an opportunity to comment on the content of the notes before they were formally issued.

A general guidance manual on policy and procedures for local authority regulated PPC installations can be found here
