Day 1: Casting Processes and Prototyping Techniques

This NEW and extended course delivers fundamental knowledge of the principles of casting and provides an overview of most casting processes available from basic sand casting, die casting to investment casting (including the ‘Lost foam’ and ‘Replicast®’ processes).

It also looks at the development of creating casting prototypes, not just using SLA techniques but also covers alternative ways such as “Patternless®” process and foam machining.

This course is designed to have a wide appeal, and caters for everyone wishing to understand casting processes and modern rapid prototyping methods and techniques.

Those attending may be shop floor, technical or non-technical, management personnel, sales, apprentices, etc. [No prior knowledge is required]

Casting Design and Improving Quality Standards

This one-day course provides individuals with knowledge of casting design. It covers basic principles, the building blocks to good casting design and how to improve product quality and to recognise casting defects.

This course is particularly suited for practicing designers, simulation process or methods engineers looking to gain or improve depth of knowledge in producing castable designs, technical personnel such as sales or quality departments - as some of the controversial issues raised, reflect the way castings are purchased and the suggested improvements of design and current practices have a direct effect on quality.
