3D sand printing enables complex cores which would normally require multiple core-boxes, to be made in one piece through its unique process of layer printing. Because there are no restrictions on undercuts, we can manufacture cores which would otherwise be impossible to produce by traditional techniques.
Moulds and cores are capable of being manufactured to an accuracy of ± 0.25mm, enabling sand castings to achieve dimensional standards equivalent to that of lost wax investment castings (ISO 8062 Casting Tolerance Grade CT4 to CT6).
If required, moulds and cores can be manufactured within 48hrs of the receipt of 3D CAD model files. Sourcing of these moulds from Castings Technology considerably reduces the lead time to production which may significantly improve customer service.
